BLUE RIDGE MUSIC TRAILS & Heritage Trails of North Carolin

The Blue Ridge Music Trails are nestled within the North Carolina mountains and foothills, a region known for its spectacular beauty, moderate climate, Cherokee heritage, handmade crafts, small family farms, and, of course, its rich musical traditions. The geographic footprint of the Blue Ridge Music Trails consists of twenty-nine counties in the western third of the state.

The new Blue Ridge Heritage Trail – a companion to the Blue Ridge Music Trails – offers visitors a new and exciting way to learn about many cultural and natural heritage sites throughout the North Carolina mountains and foothills. The Blue Ridge Heritage Trail is a collection of special places that embody the remarkable history and culture of the region. Interpretive signs at each location tell an illuminating story about each site and illustrate many aspects of the region’s natural and cultural heritage including that of the Cherokee, traditional music, agriculture, and craft.
