TWO WOMEN IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE GYM

May 8, 2022

Listen to Va Boyle’s reading along with instrumentalist, Lois J. Henrickson (Lytingale)

one dark and shining, the other

paler by half

one with pink turban, the other

a cascade of curl

they wave, skitter like polished stones, across

an asphalt sea, swept

to each other, on a relentless tide

they fold in to one another,

like a harbor

liquid and supple

they hold on,

as though moored
