| After more than 20 years of hard work and collaboration, we’re on the precipice of the most important chapter of our mission: when the IAAM welcomes visitors as the nation’s newest home for African American history and culture.
Thanks to your support, the outside of our building is complete, and Gadsden’s Wharf — one of the country’s most prolific slave-trading ports in U.S. history — has been reclaimed as home to a stunning facility that offers a breathtaking look upon Atlantic waters. But there’s still a lot of work ahead, which is why I’m reaching out to the most committed Charter Members to personally ask you to reaffirm your support for the IAAM.
