AMICI MUSIC “DOUBLE TROUBLE”–July 3-6 and “FOUR-HAND FIREWORKS”—July 24-27

Dear AmiciMusic friends, Thank you to all who came to our recent and very fun “DOUBLE TROUBLE” program. We had wonderful crowds at both the Asheville Art Museum and at St. Giles as well as an intimate House Concert at Dan and Jerry’s amazing home. On July 24-27, I will be back with my pianist friend Daniel Lau and his wife, Kyle Engler, a wonderful mezzo-soprano to do a program entitled “FOUR-HAND FIREWORKS,” which will feature four-hand piano works by Mendelssohn, Moszkowski, and Gershwin (“Rhapsody in Blue”) as well as songs by Brahms, Arlen, and more. We will now do four concerts as we have added a new home near Flat Rock for all of our friends in that area. We have also switched our St. Giles program to Sunday afternoon instead of Friday evening, which I know is better for most people. Here are the concerts: If anyone would be interested in hosting one of our intimate and exciting House Concerts, we are always looking for new places to play. The only thing you need is a decent grand piano (can be a baby grand too) and a living room that can fit at least 20 people seated (or more). We also are sometimes in need of housing for our guest musicians so please let me know if you might be interested in hosting one or more musicians for a weekend when we are in town. You do not need to supply food–just a bed and bathroom. Just e-mail me at daniel@amicimusic.org if you might be interested in either of these options. Amici Music is a chamber music organization based in Asheville, NC and Baltimore, MD, dedicated to performing the highest quality chamber music in intimate venues and non-traditional spaces. We are committed to breaking down barriers between performers and audiences by setting up a more relaxed and informal atmosphere at concerts and through informative talks about each composer’s life before each piece is played. Thank you all for your continued support for AmiciMusic in Western North Carolina! Sincerely and gratefully, |
