THE PENDULUM

January 10, 2026

Out of the blue, uncontrolled and unattainable,

the pendulum swings. It’s the force of nature.

With every twitch it starts on the path that disturbs what was;

it drags with it the burden of what it needs to unload,

when the pendulum swings, it broadens its grasp,

to exhibit errors of the past.

The pendulum swings searching for omissions

outside itself – often crashing into what’s in its

way, like an abrupt notice of wrong-doing.

On its return it twists and turns, then stops to purvey

its direction, its destiny and so, ours.

Out of the blue, uncontrolled and unattainable,

the pendulum swings, disturbing in its path

all that is not pinned down. It is purposeful.

The pendulum swings, then alights carefully

when there is cause. You already know about

this. Earth also turns in her own disturbing

way, when she is ignored or abused. She

plans her path, as the pendulum swings.
